Introduction and Review

Kakao Talk, a social application produced by KaoKao Corp, allows users to communicate with their friends by voice. As a free messenger app connecting people and the world in South Korea, Kakao Talk was launched on March 18, 2010. The app is currently available in 15 languages, including traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Indian, Turkish, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, and which can be used on computers, mobile and wearable devices.

The functions provided by Kakao Talk are somewhat similar to domestic QQ and WeChat. Users can use the address book to add friends to chat. What’s more, no matter where you are, you can chat with friends one-on-one or multi-group with friends on Kakao Talk, make voice and video calls, edit display profiles, manage schedules, send and receive chat and MMS, and more. What’s more, the app manages friends with actual phone numbers, and with the push notification service, users can quickly send and receive messages, pictures, videos, and voice intercom with relatives, friends, and colleagues. Just like texting, friends can receive your Kakao talk messages even if they are not online.
